How You Can Face Interview

Pre-Interview tips:

  • Use the library or the Web and research about the company.
  • Find things to converse during the interview. This will impress the interviewer.
  • Know about the five year growth of the company and future path.
  • Know about the company's economic position and the competitors.
  • Employers reject improperly dressed aspirants. You should dress according to the impression you want to make i.e. business-like, successful and conservative. Your apparel/appearance won’t get the job, but it can definitely rob you of it.
  • Get correct directions to the interview site at least one day ahead of time and be 15 minutes early at the day of interview.
  • Be polite to the staff…especially the secretary. An employer is always influenced by views of other employees.

Interview tips

  • Do not fold resume and take a resume with you even if the interviewer has one.
  •  Present the resume to the person in a new file folder.
  • Shake hands confidently and look the person in the interviewer eyes. Preserve good eye contact and high energy level during the interview.
  • Sit up and back straight.
  • No smoking coffee (to spill).
  • Keep your answers concise, brief and to the point.
  • Be Specific while answering the interviewer. If you are explaining your accomplishments, try to support your claims by quoting figures or specific accomplishments.
  • Now is not the time for meekness. It is not bigheaded, and no one will find it unpleasant if you mention your achievements or awards or explain unique business programs that you have devised. It's an accepted and expected part of the interview procedure.
  • Don't attempt to make a low-level position sound as if you were in fact the CEO's right-hand man or woman.
  • Despite of what happens in the interview keep balanced, calm and professional. Your self-possession may well be tested during the interview.
  • Pay Attention to the interviewer. Let the person complete the questions and ensure you know what is being asked. If you are not certain, ask the interviewer to clarify the query.
